Pumpkinfest Tamworth Family Halloween Day Out
Pumpkins, Family Scare Maze & Fun Activities for all ages!
We had a fantastic afternoon yesterday at the Pumpkinfest 2018 event at Hints, near Tamworth in Staffordshire. Find out what’s there, why it’s good value for money and why you should visit! I’ll also show you how to find a similar event near where you live!
Here are a few photos, a short vlog, plus information about the event. As always, let’s start with the basics.
What is it?
It’s a whole lot more that just picking a pumpkin to carve for Halloween!
From the official website:
We would like to announce that our annual Pumpkin Fest will be open from 20th – 31st October 2018. 10am – 4pm. The admission for children (2 – 12 years) is £5 and under 2’s and adults are free. There is no need to book. You can turn up on the day.
There will be a Bounce & Climb Area (several bouncy castles*) plus straw bales to climb on, space hoppers and other children’s play equipment, plus the tunnel of terror, face painting (small extra charge) and a wide range of food on offer, including our onsite café, the Strawberry Cabin Tea Room and Restaurant for breakfast, lunch and snacks and our delicious selection of homemade cakes, which will be for sale in our Snack Shack. Also, a BBQ with burgers and hotdogs.
You can choose your pumpkins from the field (we provide sledges for people to bring them back on) or you can buy them from the display near the shop. We have grown a huge variety of pumpkins so there will be something to suit everyone. It’s good, honest outdoor family fun.

Dad's Verdict
We had a great afternoon out and I recommend a visit if you are looking for a pumpkin. The entrance fee of £5 per child was good value given the range of fun items on offer and the unlimited time that they could spend playing on the bouncy castles, space-hoppers, walks through the scare-maze and other play areas. The shop and cafe offered a great range of food and drinks and the pumpkins were reasonably priced - you even got a mini one for free on the way out.
If you like to have fun on Halloween then this a great build-up event and provides more of an emotional hook when carving the pumpkin - your children will remember the fun day out that they had picking their pumpkin from the farm (rather than just putting one in your supermarket trolly). I realise that a lot of my readers don't live in the Midlands so I'd recommend searching the internet for a local farm near you - it's a great value family day out!
